Where are the Real-Life Women?

I'm a pretty even-keeled person but I have to say that the liberal feminists are really starting to get on my nerves. All the major leftist women's groups were represented in a press conference this past week where they took aim at Senator McCain and Governor Palin for being against the best interests of women. What infuriates me is that these women claim to speak for all the women in this country when clearly they do not. They rant about "reproductive rights" when what they really advocate is the right to end reproduction at will by killing the unborn child, and they use this as the litmus test to declare who is for or against women. They also make the condescending claim that only uneducated women would vote for the McCain-Palin ticket. My question is this: why aren't more women publicly rebuking these arrogant, elitist females? Most of the women I know don't remotely resemble Kim Gandy, Eleanor Smeal, or Nancy Pelosi. The women I know are wives and mothers who love their husbands and children and don't treat them as obstacles on the road to success. The women I know love God and obey all His commands and don't just pick the ones that suit them. The women I know don't look down their noses at other women whose family, educational or career choices don't match their own. The women I know are stay-at-home mothers who respect working women for blazing trails for them, or full-time professionals who honor mothers for their devotion to family, or amazing performers who sacrifice so much to balance family and career. These are the real-life women I see every day; they are our mothers, wives, sisters and daughters and they are ones who make our country work.

Why don't these women call a press conference and repudiate the idea that NOW, NARAL, Emily's List and all the other radical women's groups speak for them in any way, shape or form? Why don't organizations like the Concerned Women for AmericaFeminists for Life, the Independent Women's Forum, the Network of Enlightened Women, the Susan B. Anthony ListOperation Outcry, and the National Black Pro-Life Union, just to name a few, band together and hold their own press conference to stand with the pro-life, pro-family women who are the true face of feminism in America? The mainstream media isn't going to go out of their way to give real-life women a platform so why don't they create their own? One thing the press loves more than their pet liberal causes is a good fight and they couldn't resist covering a press conference that counters the strident voices of the feminist left. Who do I need to speak to in order to make this a reality? Regular folks have to start making noise if we want to be heard; we don't control the medium but we are the message and they can't ignore us if we stand up and shout.
